Q: Why doesn't my strobe turn on when the unit is activated? A: Try disconnecting the weatherproof gray connector that runs between the phone and the strobe light, and shorting the two conductor pins in the connector that runs to the strobe. If the strobe flashes, there is a problem with the phone. If the strobe doesn't flash, there is a problem with the strobe light. The most common problem is a burned out flash tube. These flash tubes are available as spare parts. If a new flash tube doesn't solve the problem, call Code Blue tech support for additional information. |

Q: There was a storm last night, and now the unit won't dial out. The phone works fine at the lab bench, but doesn't operate on location. What happened? A: Test the integrity of the phone line surge protector by trying the phone with the surge protector, and then bypassing the surge protector. If the phone works without the surge protector, but does not work once the surge protector is reconnected, it is likely that an electric surge or spike blew the telephone protection circuit. These surge protectors are available as spare parts from Code Blue. |

Q: The clear strobe top dome on my Code Blue model CB 1 is filling up with water and/or condensation. What can I do? A: First, be sure there is a ½" gap from the bottom of the CB I to the ground. This gap is needed for proper air circulation throughout the Code Blue unit. In most cases, the condensation in the strobe top dome can be eliminated simply by raising the unit ½" from the ground. In some extreme locations, condensation may still build up in the top of the strobe dome even if the unit is properly installed. In this circumstance, it may be necessary to purchase a Code Blue passive dome top vent kit. The passive dome top vent kit is installed on top of the Code Blue dome and allows air to circulate throughout the unit, thus reducing the effects of condensation. Q: Will the CB3100 phone work with a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) System? A: Connecting the CB3100 speakerphone to a VOIP system is very similar to connecting to a digital phone system. The customer simply needs to contact their VIOP system vendor and tell them the quality of analog devices that they will be adding to their system and the vendor will present them with their options. Because most Digital and VOIP phone systems are proprietary, the only way to interface to them is by using an interface from that system's manufacturer. The same interface could be used to connect a fax machine, dial-up modem or any other single-pair, analog device. |
