PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
Spec in RTF Format

1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Model S-550 (low voltage) blue beacon and strobe assembly shall consist of two 1 watt blue side light emitting diodes (LEDs).  When the strobe is activated each LED will flash in synchronous a minimum of 60 times per minute in high (Mode 1) and covered by a blue Lexan-type polycarbonate refractor. The unit shall interface with a speakerphone communications device. The beacon shall be constantly illuminated in order to facilitate locating the unit and using the speakerphone. The strobe shall be automatically activated upon using the communications device, and shall deactivate when the recipient terminates the call.

2.0 CONSTRUCTION

The combination blue beacon and strobe assembly shall consist of a Lexan-type polycarbonate refractor, two side emitting LEDs with the electronics set in a potted base. The refractor covers and protects the LEDs and has a prismatic design that distributes light in a horizontal pattern, enabling the unit to be seen from a great distance. It shall be both weather and vandal resistant, and shall be suitable for both indoor and outdoor (upright mounting) use. The assembly shall be capable of being used with both Code Blue products and other products.

3.0 MOUNTING

3.1 The beacon/strobe assembly shall be mounted either in a Code Blue unit, or on a remote strobe bracket.

3.1.1 Code Blue Unit - The assembly is mounted to an internal bracket and shall be placed within the unit using three 6/32 by .25-inch screws.

3.1.2 Remote strobe bracket - The assembly is mounted to a remote strobe bracket with three 6/32 by .5-inch screws. The bracket shall have a conduit for electrical wiring. The 90° positioning variation of the bracket shall place the strobe vertically with the lens pointing upward or downward when the bracket is mounted to either a pole or wall.
